My Utmost

"My Utmost for His Highest"is a compilation published by Oswald's wife after his passing. The daily messages are a short version of his preachings to students and soldiers. He passed away in 1917, and the book was originally published in England in the late 20s.

What I love about this devotional is that it is timeless. I have been reading it for years, thru our raising our children, earlier in our marriage and now as empty nesters, thru good and bad times.

The devotional never fails to bring me back to the center of my faith, Jesus himself.

Although I have to pull out the dictionary every once in a while, the messages at the core, all lead to the same "one thing" - Jesus.

We can be so busy, so tired, so frustrated, so sad, so so many things, that we keep looking for things to soothe our pain. This devotional reminds me that there is NO OTHER but Jesus.
